WHAT THEY'RE SAYING......ABOUT CYPRESS COVE

at Mendocino

People are talking about us, it's true. We now have a "reputation",
but it's one we enjoy living up to.
No one is throwing stones... it's more like flowers.
We like that. Read on.

THE BEST PLACES TO KISS IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA is Northern California's Most Reliable and Remarkable Travel Guide. Written by Stephanie Bell, Elizabeth Janda & Laura Kraemer and published by Beginning Press (5418 South Brandon Street, Seattle, WA 98118), the Best Places to Kiss Rating System is from No Lips to Four Lips... Four Lips being "Simply Sublime"!
We're proud of the 4 Lips awarded to Cypress Cove!

and this is what they had to say...

"Once the word gets out about Cypress Cove, it will be nearly impossible to get reservations. It's hard enough as it is, and our four-lip review will only make matters worse. Still, believe us when we say that it is well worth the effort to plan your getaway around the availability of the two suites here. Perched on a rocky bluff, this two-story beach house has wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows that bring spectacular views of Mendocino and the bay practically inside. Both suites are simply decorated in contemporary style and have private decks, indoor whirlpool tubs for two, separate showers, wood-burning fireplaces, complete stereo systems, and sublime comfort. Pacifica, the second-floor suite, is accented with bright linens, colorful tiles, large bouquets of fresh flowers, and terra-cotta-tiled floors. Cove is decorated in a more subdued style, with shades of gray, black, and green. One particularly noteworthy aspect of the Cove Suite is the corner window seat with magnificent views -- this has to be one of the absolute best places to kiss in all of California.

On top of all this, one of the best features of Cypress Cove is that you can hear the ocean, not just view it. This is something most of us do not have the pleasure of hearing at home, and there is something very special about being lulled to sleep by such a pure and powerful sound.

Romantic Note: Coffee, tea, brandy, and chocolates are provided; breakfast is not. Luckily, you're not far from Mendocino's many restaurants and bakeries, and each suite is equipped with a kitchenette so you can prepare your own meals. Maid service is every third day."

... and this from money Magazine:

It's a given that the people at money magazine know what they're talking about when it comes to, well... money. But they also know what they're talking about when it comes to travel and fun places to go. The February issue of money included a special section on 50 ROMANTIC WEEKENDS, places to go and things to do.They included Mendocino (well, of course they would!) for a romantic weekend and recommended Cypress Cove as THE place to stay (naturally!). This is what they said:
"... a mile outside town, is the perfect alternative to the typical B&B Victoriana. Choose between two coolly Modernist oceanfront suites, each with a wood-burning fireplace, private deck, floor-to-ceiling windows and kitchenette."
money Magazine... they know what they're talking about!
